In a bid to connect, interact and share the University vision with other staff members, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mbithi, paid a visit to CEES. His visit is a major milestone to the College which has been very fundamental in terms of revenue generation and fostering quality academic and research services.

The Principal, Prof. Jumba warmly welcomed the Vice Chancellor thanked him for making efforts to visit the College. In his speech, he pledged unending support of the College to the University towards achieving its mission and visions. He also noted that the there was a significant expansion of student enrollment and staff services.

‘The student population as at 2014/15 is 21,891 and that of fulltime teaching staff is approximately 91. Additionally, the students enjoy the teaching services of   more than 355 part-time lecturers’ he said.

Apart from providing student mentorship, CEES has been fundamental in enhancing holistic education to the staff and student population as well as creating a bond between College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) and College of Biological and Physical Sciences (CBPS).

On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mbithi, congratulated and thanked the College Principal and his team for the great efforts put on performance contract and website commitments.  He stressed on the importance of reviewing the University strategies and activities to bridge gaps in key priority functions alternatively recognized as the quickwins. Similarly, the College’s efforts to develop student mentorship did not go unnoticed.

“I appreciated your efforts to ensure prosperity in student mentorship and service efficiencies. Together, we will create a strategic plan of producing holistic learning, development and research centers for pedagogy and andragogy,” he stated.

To achieve further progress in income generation, the V.C maintained that there was need to conduct austerity and cost maintenance measures apart from working together in harmony so as to grow the energies invested.
